CONSULTING + FACILITATION

Facilitated Workshops and Dialogues for Arts Organizations

As philosophy, Women of Color in the Arts (WOCA) generally does not subscribe to the terminology “training” when used to describe how pathways are opened in order to understand race and equity and their impact on organizational culture and structure. As an alternative, WOCA offers facilitated dialogues which aim to incite critical conversations from a racial and social justice framework, foster critical thinking grounded in contextualized history, create a vocabulary of shared language, and build community around shared values. Topics addressed can include:

  • racial and cultural equity

  • inclusion and diversity

  • cultural democracy and arts equity

  • systemic, structural, and systematic racism

  • white supremacy culture

  • frameworks of oppression

  • anti-Blackness

  • implicit/unconscious bias

  • privilege and power

  • gender equity

  • sexual harassment and discrimination, and, gender justice

  • intersectionality
